Randrr; A Lesson in Product Failure

The Challenge

RANDRR aimed to disrupt job search by providing transparent insights but failed due to mismanagement and resistance to UX principles.

My Role

  • Introduced human-centered design processes to improve the job search experience.

  • Facilitated user testing and design sprint workshops to synthesize learnings into design approaches.

  • Led content and UX strategy to simplify job discovery and application processes.

Process

  • Designed a job insights interface allowing users to toggle between summary and technical details.

  • Iterated on onboarding flows to streamline account setup.

  • Validated personas through usability testing and real-world interactions.

Outcomes

  • Onboarding time reduced from 11 minutes to 2 minutes 15 seconds.

  • The product failed due to organizational challenges, but we did identify a product-market fit and developed a strong product experience.
